The NT1X62 handles communication between the IOC shelf and the rest of the DMS-100. It interfaces with the message switch shelf via DS-30, and talks to the rest of the cards on the IOC shelf via an internal parallel bus.<ref name="nt1x62-quickref">[[File:TAM-1001-018_DMS100_Family_Quick_Reference_Guide.pdf|page=81|25px]] DMS100 Family Quick Reference, Page 81</ref>

The CB variant is the same as CA, but uses a custom "N03" IC to talk to the DS-30 bus.<ref name="nt1x62-quickref" />
